Get to know your photographer || {Kalamazoo Photographer - Amanda Schwab Photography}

I know there is a whole "About Me" section here on my website, but I wanted to take some time and tell you some things about me that you might not know. Obviously, I love photography and I you can see that I love my kids and spend loads of time with them. However, there is more to me than being a photographer and chasing around toddlers. Here are just a few of the things that make me, me.

GET TO KNOW.png

1. I am the oldest of 4 kids.

My mom was really young when she got married and a year later I was born. I have a brother who is 2 years younger but after the two of us, my parents took a bit of a break. My sister was born when I was nearly 13 and my youngest brother when I was almost 17. For the two of them, I've always been a bit more like a second mother. But I wouldn't have it any other way. They are some of the best people I know.

2. I LOVE me some Thai food

However, I don't like my food TOO spicy. Give me some Tom Kha Gui and a plate of mild Pad Thai and I'm one happy lady. I'm hungry just thinking about it!

3. I also have a bit of an iced tea obsession

And strangely enough, McDonald's iced tea always hits the spot. My husband knows just how to make me happy and it's usually bringing me an iced tea. In fact, my sister told me she knew he was the one when he brought me some iced tea without my asking. :) :)

4. How I met my husband

I've known my husband for quite a long time - since Kindergarten in fact! We went to elementary school together. He even asked me out once in 5th grade. While I was still a little young to date then, when he found me again 6 years ago on Facebook we fell for each other hard. A wedding and two kids later we are living happily ever after. :)

5. I'm living the dream

For real. All I ever wanted to be growing up is a mama and now I have two beautiful girls. Add to that my photography and I'm in heaven. I love my job! There is nothing better for me than capturing a family's love in pictures. Getting to know them by watching how they interact and being able to give them beautiful heirlooms is a dream come true. I love being a photographer in southwest Michigan!

6. I have a small football problem...

Well, not a problem per se, more of a passion. I love the Michigan Wolverines. While I still love to see them win, I must say my passion has dimmed a bit over the years. There may have been one or two (or 10) games that I yelled at the TV and maybe even possibly one where I cried (thanks a lot, Michigan State). But it has been quite a few years since I've lost sleep over a game. Now I just enjoy watching them, cheering for a win.

That's all for now! :) Maybe we will do part 2 someday...
